Anti-Bullying Week runs from Monday 16 to Friday 20 November 2026, organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance. The theme this year is Break the Silence, and it opens with Odd Socks Day on Monday 16 November.

The theme lands close to home for children living in residential care. Many of the young people we support have told an adult something difficult before and found that nothing changed. Once that has happened, the cost of speaking up again is high.

So our part is less about a week of activities and more about what happens the rest of the year: whether a child is believed the first time, whether something visibly changes afterwards, and whether they can see what happened as a result.

Children living with us can speak to any member of staff, to the manager of their home, or to their social worker. They can also ask for an advocate, who does not work for us. Our page on concerns and complaints explains all of the routes in plain words.

Read this in your language

Two ways to read these pages in another language.

Your browser can translate this page

This is the better option: the translation happens on your own device, so nothing you read here is sent anywhere, and it works on every page of the site.

Or open this page in Google Translate

This opens in a new tab on Google’s website. Google will be able to see which page you are reading.

These translations are made by a computer. Guidance Care has not checked them, and some words may be wrong. If anything here matters for a child’s care, please ask us - we will arrange an interpreter so nothing depends on a machine translation.
