Our homes are set up to provide a safe, stable and nurturing environment, with consistency for each young person. Promoting education, health and wellbeing, safety, enjoyment and achievement whilst developing positive relationships. The structure of our homes enables and encourages young people to develop the skills required to live within a family structure and our staff offer a high level of consistency to deal with the young person’s identified needs.
Encouraging physical and leisure activities are fundamental to our model of care due to the positive holistic benefits, including the opportunity to experience success and a sense of achievement for our young people. Our service
actively consults young people in the home and introduces them to a wide variety of activities, this enables young people to find something favourable to them and meets their specific individual needs.
Young people within the care system can often feel that they are isolated and ‘different’. At our homes, we strive to break that stigma and provide opportunities and a positive experience for each young person. Guidance Care believes that a residential experience can, and should be, positive for young people and that our service provides this.
Values We Believe InResidential care should provide young people with skilled support from our committed staff in a safe, caring and ordered environment. We have a responsibility to ensure that our young people in our residential care are protected from abuse and neglect and that care should form part of a range of services. These services are to meet the young person’s needs and support their families and carers. We recruit and support staff that are carefully selected and have opportunities to develop skills and professional practice through training and supervision. We have many values which are important to the home and for the young people who are looked after.
