Referrals

At Guidance Care we aim to ensure that children and young people are placed in a home that offers them the chance to settle, learn and grow in a safe and enriching environment. We appreciate that sometimes children and young people come to us in crisis and we are focused on helping them have better days and better lives moving forward.

Our referrals team aim to provide you with a response to any referral enquiry within 2 hours of contact, and we will profile potential vacancies that match the referral details.

Guidance Care understand that Placement Matching and initial ‘ risk aware ‘ risk assessment is key to a safe and successful transition into our care. This approach enables us to minimise any potential impact on all of our young people and make sure that we get things right at the outset.

Once placement has been confirmed, our Children’s Homes Managers will begin the process of completing the placement plans.

To make an enquiry, please contact the referrals team on 01253 530008

We pledge to work in partnership with the local authorities to support the young person through any challenging periods.

We aim to provide stability and structure, which in turn allows them the opportunity to re-engage and re-focus.

There are some restrictions on our placing criteria and as such we do not provide accommodation for:

    •   Those with Severe Learning Disabilities
    •   Those requiring specialist psychiatric interventions
    •   Young People who have a Severe Mental Health diagnosis

    Admissions

Admissions to our homes will usually be planned recognising that changes in a child and/or their family’s circumstances can be difficult and traumatic.

    Emergency Admissions

Each home is well equipped to manage emergency placements. All decisions made regarding the placement of a child as an emergency will be made by the Registered Manager. The aim will be to make all children feel welcomed and supported through this difficult transition in their life.
