Referrals

A clear, careful referral journey.

Every referral follows the same four steps, with the young person at the centre throughout.

How referrals work

  1. Contact our referral team

    Call 01253 530008 or email referrals@guidancecare.co.uk.

  2. Share the young person’s needs

Agree how to share detailed information with our team, then provide the history, needs and circumstances needed for matching.

  3. Placement matching

We match the young person to the home, staff team and setting where they’re most likely to thrive.

  4. Planned transition

A calm, well-prepared move - introduced at the right pace for the young person.

Who oversees your referral

Three people oversee every referral: the registered manager of the home you are enquiring about, our Responsible Individual, Lorraine Anderson, and Becca Cartmell, your named referral contact. You will always know who is accountable for the decision.

A first enquiry helps us understand the kind of placement you are looking for, before detailed matching begins.

Service information

Statements of Purpose.

Every registered home publishes a Statement of Purpose. These are the public editions, each showing its version and the date it was last reviewed. For the complete Statement of Purpose, request our key documents above and we will send it to your work email.

Contact us or make a referral.

Talk to our referral team about whether one of our homes is the right fit for a young person you are placing. Our referral line is open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, and we take planned placements only.

Planned placements only

Guidance Care does not currently take emergency or crisis placements in any of our 6 homes. Every move is planned, matched and prepared in advance.

Two ways to read these pages in another language.

Your browser can translate this page

This is the better option: the translation happens on your own device, so nothing you read here is sent anywhere, and it works on every page of the site.

Or open this page in Google Translate

This opens in a new tab on Google’s website. Google will be able to see which page you are reading.

More languages

These translations are made by a computer. Guidance Care has not checked them, and some words may be wrong. If anything here matters for a child’s care, please ask us - we will arrange an interpreter so nothing depends on a machine translation.
