Our care

Emotional & behavioural difficulties.

Calm, consistent, specialist support for young people with social and emotional needs.

Understanding what sits underneath.

All of our operating homes are registered to care for young people who may be experiencing social and emotional difficulties.

Our approach asks staff to look past the behaviour in front of them to the experience driving it. They listen, they stay regulated, and they help young people work through feelings rather than simply managing the outburst. Where a young person needs clinical input, the team has access to specialist support.

De-escalation comes first. Any physical intervention must be a last resort, reasonable and proportionate, and used only to keep people safe. Our approach includes recording, review and a debrief that listens to the young person and considers what should change.

Support plans and risk assessments kept current, and updated when something changes.

  • Specialist input

Access to clinical and wellbeing support for young people who need more than the home can give alone.

Two ways to read these pages in another language.

Your browser can translate this page

This is the better option: the translation happens on your own device, so nothing you read here is sent anywhere, and it works on every page of the site.

Or open this page in Google Translate

This opens in a new tab on Google’s website. Google will be able to see which page you are reading.

These translations are made by a computer. Guidance Care has not checked them, and some words may be wrong. If anything here matters for a child’s care, please ask us - we will arrange an interpreter so nothing depends on a machine translation.
